Men's Life

Monday, 7:30 pm

Men’s Life, a Bible study for men, meets weekly at the church on Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. New members, friends and neighbours are welcome to join us as we study God’s Word as it relates to men’s issues of today. Our study guide is light in nature and designed to help men grow spiritually and enjoy the Christian fellowship of other believers.

Coffee Break

Tuesday, 9:30 - 11:00 am

“Welcome and Discovery” are two words that capture the essence of the Coffee Break women’s Bible study program. We are open to women of all ages and pre-school aged children.  We combine warmth and friendliness with discovery in our study of the Bible. We use the inductive method of Bible study, which allows each of us to discover what the Bible has to say and how it applies to us today.

Mom-To-Mom

Tuesday, 9:30 - 11:00 am

Whether you are a brand new mom or a mom with experience, you are invited to join our program!  “As moms, we share some of the same joys, challenges and frustrations.  What a resource we can be for one another as we come to realize that “Hey, I’m not alone!” and “Others are struggling with the same problems I am.”  But we also share the same God – the One who gave us these children and Who promises to give us all we need to raise them.  What is studied at mom-to-mom is based on the foundation of God’s truth.”  (Excerpt from Linda Schultz Anderson).

Nursery care is provided for children aged newborn to two.

Little Lambs

Tuesday, 9:30 - 11:00 am

LITTLE LAMBS, for 2 and 3 year olds, is based on a play-centred curriculum which uses Bible stories and play centres to guide them as they begin their journey of faith. Hands-on experiences and guided play help these children wonder at God’s creation and His love. Activities such as using play-do, simple crafts, songs, rhymes, prayers reinforce the Bible story. Caring leaders encourage children to move through several play centres as they model God’s love to them.

Story Hour

Tuesday, 9:30 - 11:00 am

STORY HOUR is a Bible study program for 4 to 6 year olds, designed to introduce small children to the truths of God’s Word and includes many different crafts, songs and finger plays. Trained leaders use a variety of age-appropriate activities to teach children the basics of the Christian faith. Each year, the child will get an overview of the plan of salvation, as God has revealed it in the Bible, beginning with creation and moving through the stories of God’s care in the Old Testament. They will also learn of Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection.

Prayer Group

Thursday, 1:30 pm

The prayer group meets every second Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in an area home.

A systematic approach to prayer is followed using the guideline: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication.

Topics of prayer include individuals with special needs, our missionaries, our church leaders and programs, the worldwide church, our community, our country and all that is done in Jesus’ name.

One participant noted that “The Holy Spirit teaches us what to pray and keeps us focused”. Prayer requests are kept confidential.

Craft Connections

Thursday, 2:00 - 3:30 pm

About ten women meet every other Thursday afternoon from 2 – 3:30 p.m. to knit and crochet and to enjoy each other’s company over a cup of tea. Currently, they are making blankets for needy families in Jamaica to be distributed by our church’s “serve” mission team in February 2009. In the past, a number of prayer shawls knitted and crocheted by the Craft Connection ladies were gratefully received by the residents of the Bennett Centre.

Newcomers are welcome to join!

Faith Alive

Saturday Evening

Faith Alive is a small group Bible study that meets every other
Saturday evening, from September to June, in area homes. This study is for any adult, single or married, who wishes to learn more about what God is teaching in His Word. Currently, we are studying "The Truth Project", a DVD-based small group curriculum designed to communicate the Christian worldview.

Friendship Group

Sunday, 2:30 pm

Friendship Group provides a comfortable atmosphere where persons with cognitive impairments can worship God as well as socialize with each other in their own unique way. About 10 to 15 friends, in their 20’s to 70’s, and a number of leaders meet on the first and third Sunday of each month at 2:30 p.m. for fellowship, singing, crafts and Bible stories. An occasional church service is held that includes lively hymn singing and participation in a band. In the summer, the Friendship Group usually gets together for a picnic.

Fellowship Club

Every Three Weeks

The Fellowship Club is a Bible Study group of about 12-15 people, couples and singles, that meet every three weeks at various member’s homes. Recent study topics have included discussions based on books by Christian authors such as: “When God Whispers Your Name”, by Max Lucado and “The Purpose-Driven Life”, by Rick Warren or the video series, “That the World May Know” about Israel by Ray Vanderlaan.  The families go camping for a week together each summer at an area provincial park.
